Crimes Against Property – Crime’s Secondary Order Of Importance

    2010 - 09.08

The second order of precedence under crimes against persons is crimes against property. For example, robbery is categorized as a crime against a person. Burglary, on the other hand, is classified as a crime against property.

Since then, the term “white collar crime” has taken on a life of its own, inspiring frequent and as yet unresolved debates over what it should really encompass. Many legal scholars reject Sutherland’s original narrow definition and choose to expand Sutherland’s criteria into independent and separate categories. That is to say, while Sutherland may define a white collar crime as an offense committed by a person of high social standing for personal financial gain.

Places such as parks, historic sites, and recreation areas and natural resources such as mineral, water, and forests contain criminal statutes that relate to environmental crime. Environmental laws very from state to state and from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. For example, in most states it is a misdemeanor to drive a motor vehicle without permission on sand dunes or beaches. Similarly, it is a crime to enter a park without following all the rules and regulations regarding use of the park. It is also a violation of laws regulating the archaeological exploration of excavation of a historic site. Indian burial grounds fall under this category.

Arson refers to the intentional and malicious burning of property. This crime can be quite complicated because there are many motives for perpetrating this crime.

Some ways Identities are stolen is not always online. One way is referred to as Digital Pick Pocketing. Anyone who has physical access to your credit card can swipe your name and credit card information using a “skimmer”, a small handheld device which reads electronic data stored on the magnetic stripe found on credit cards, like a waiter waitress, bartender, anyone you hand your card to and walks away from your sight.

At a crime scene, an accelerant such as gasoline or an explosive device will often be apparent. Many times it is difficult to link the crime to a particular offender because so much of the physical evidence is destroyed.

So we have challenges to accept if we don’t want to be a victim, or shrink the odds to make it harder to find your identity. Crime prevention is about being aware, checking your credit report, shredding all important material, securing your mailbox, investing in identity theft insurance because maybe people should be cautious. There are a few more ways that Identity Theft can make us a victim we can cover that another time, so get in the habit of Identity Theft Protection and Awareness.

Scottish Man Fined For Blue Badge Fraud

    2010 - 09.08

A man from Scotland has been fined over £7,000 after being caught using a forged blue badge to park in disabled spaces.

The blue badges, which entitled you to park in disabled parking bays, are issued by local councils to genuinely disabled people in order to make their lives a little bit easier, given their lack of mobility. Mr Humayun Reza of Edinburgh was previously in charge of a large care home in Scotland, where he is believed to have gotten hold of legitimate bages for residents, before copying them for his own use.

Mr. Reza was caught last year after parking a non disabled vehicle with the faked blue badge in the window, whilst on a trip to London. Investigators had been looking into Mr.. Reza for a long time, but had previously been unable to catch him or a member of his family in the act.

Mr. Reza appeared in front of the judge last week, where he was told his actions were ‘dishonest and fraudelent’ before being convicted and fined £7,515.

Unfortunately, this type of crime would appear to be increasing in Great Britain, with many more people being convicted of similar offences in 2010 than in previous years. Disabled people, who’s government and council funded benefits include the blue badge and the motability scheme, have had to endure up to 70% of parking spaces reserved for them being used other people in major UK cities.

Fines for the offence have been increasing aswell, with those prosecuted having to face fines upwards of several thousand pounds. This seems like it could be a real attempt by the government to have a genuine deterrent to committing this crime, although whether or not it’s effective remains to be seen.

Mr. Reza’s fine is the second largest fine for this offence in the last few months, after a woman in Birmingham was fined over £8,000 for parking her Renault Kangoo (oddly enough a popular model for disabled vehicle conversions) illegally, whilst displaying a blue badge that had been reported stolen.

Smoking The New Green Friendly Cigarette

    2010 - 09.08

When you smoke an e cigarette, it is identical to smoking a tobacco cigarette, just with none of the carcinogens. Ultimately, what is missing is smoke, ash, tar, and all of the hundreds to thousands of chemical substances usually discovered inside a tobacco cigarette. Yet, the nicotine sensation experience in a green smoke is nearly the identical to it is with ordinary cigarettes.

Vapor is a primary cog in an e cigarette and its effectiveness. It comprises of purified water, propylene glycol, nicotine, and various kinds of flavoring. When you inhale, the vapor that is produced activates inside cigarette sensors that deliver the desired dosage of nicotine.

If you believe propylene glycol sounds familiar, it just might be. It is an organic additive usually located in cake mixes and food coloring. As discussed previously, a selection of flavors are available, including such popular ones as coffee, strawberry, apple, and more. Naturally, there are also the {traditional conventional} tobacco tastes from which to choose.

As you may expect, the vapor produced is less toxic than of regular cigarette smoke. And there are no toxins or tar, either, nor smoke or ashes. The vapor does produce a scent, though. Nevertheless, it usually is not offensive because the vapor is so slight and easily disperses. And the scent emitted is the identical to the flavor of the purchased cartridge. A strawberry-flavored cartridge produces a slight strawberry odor only.

More modern elements also exist. One cartridge lasts about as long as a pack of tobacco cigarettes. Because there are several types of cartridges, users have the capability to adjust the nicotine level of each smoke. The electronic cigarette is powered by a lithium ion battery. The battery lasts approximately five cigarettes when it is charged fully. To be more specific, the battery allows any place between fifty and seventy puffs of a conventional cigarette. It goes without saying that the lasting power of the battery depends on how much the e cigarettes is used.

Refill Your Toner Cartridges – Razor Blade Economics

    2010 - 09.08

My title probably fits in with today’s economic outlook – many senior politicians look with horror and more importantly with complete impotence as world economic affairs steam roller their carefully laid targets and forecasts. At times like these we see we are simply hostage to the fortunes of a global economy and our politicians who we blame or praise are largely irrelevant.

But enough of the politics – my article refers to an interesting economic phenomena which you are probably aware of – it sounds like just straight forward economic sense but there is a sinister side which I hope to illustrate.

Example #Two: The Real Estate Capitalization before the Last Recession had a positive effect on the Economy to certain point by pouring capital in the Capital Markets and investing in business development which consequence huge economic growth before it turned into negative effect , hence, if then an overregulated Economy could be a stopper and a negative.

Hence, same regulations could have a positive effect or a negative effect on Economic development under different circumstances.

The concept is also easily illustrated in replacement toner cartridges. If you have any sort of printer you’ll have noticed that there is a vast amount of manufacturing that goes into the average toner cartridge – the vast majority of which is discarded when the ink runs out. In more economic naive days these cartridges had little plugs which you could open and refill with ink alas no more.

Why will it take so long to see significant passive income? The reality of MLM is that you’ll be spending a considerable amount of time just building your network. By that, I’m not just talking about adding as many people as possible. Your time is better spent offering your business opportunity to motivated people who won’t give up the first few times they encounter a problem. Fighting attrition is an ongoing concern for any MLM business and you’d do well to ensure that your network is as well trained and committed to reaching targets as you are, to keep them from wandering off into MLM limbo.

The toner cartridge is fine – it’s not run out, the rollers are fine, none of the components have suffered excessive wear and tear – it’s simply run out of ink. The cartridge would happily run again if refilled but now all the printer manufacturers go to excessive lengths to stop you doing this. Many cartridges have a computer chip which disable printing after so many uses – which is effectively the same as a car manufacturer putting a little chip in your car stopping it working after it’s done 60,000 miles.

You’ll find that as you progress in MLM, your values shift from thinking of yourself as a “distributor” of  a product to thinking of yourself as a “business owner” with the practical experience and training to build more and more businesses that add up to massive residuals. That’s about the time when quitting your day job will make perfect sense. That’s the point where you realize your financial freedom is well within your grasp.

What To Do With Flood Damage

    2010 - 09.08

“One of nature’s destructive disaster that can cost millions of dollars and can even cost lives are floods. People need to deal with flood damage once water subsides.

Initially, contact your insurance provider and ask whether they cover natural disasters such as this and ask whether they can help you. List down or come up with an estimate of the total property damage, take pictures of your residence or your business as proof.

The next step is cleaning up. Remove as much mud as you can before flushing the rest with water. Disinfect the flooded area including all the pieces of furniture and fixtures and all other objects come in contact with the flood water because flood water is loaded with pathogens.

Another important aspect that needs to be dealt with properly is the prevention of the spreading of illness especially through kitchenware. Pathogens could easily get to us when they come in contact with the food we eat and this is why kitchenware should be disinfected properly. It is advised that kitchenware be soaked in hot water for several minutes and counters or cupboards be disinfected before storing the kitchenware.

Remove the mud from your beds, couches and other upholstery and let them dry. Don’t clean them yourself because those are full of bacteria. Books and other documents should be dried carefully. Those partially dried books can be pressed together to prevent crumpling.

Call an electrician and have him take care of all your electrical appliances. Don’t plug them yet because you are at risk of being electrocuted. If you have vehicles, contact your car insurance and don’t forget to take pictures as proof. Some owners sell or trade in their cards or sometimes brought to repair shops for servicing.

The key here is to always be prepared. Be attentive for warnings and listen to news forecasts so that you can be informed with upcoming typhoons.

If professional help is needed, go and get help for you and your family since floods can sometimes cause emotional or physical trauma.”

For flood damage Atlanta, trust the experts to minimize the extent of the problem. There are professionals who are skilled and trained to handle situations such as water damage Atlanta so your home can be cleaned and restored to a healthy shape.

Anti-rape Condom With Teeth, Rape-aXe, Invested In South Africa

    2010 - 09.08

In an effort to cut down on sexual offenders in South Africa, a country with one of the worst rape rates within the world, creator Dr. Sonnet Ehlers is disbursing a female condom with jagged teeth called Rape-aXe. The doctor, who’s fed up after witnessing floods of rape victims pouring in, could be giving away thousands of the “condom with teeth” devices during the World Cup.

The rape problem in South Africa

Non-governmental organization CIET Africa conducted a survey ten years ago that showed just how bad sexual violence is in South Africa. In the survey, about 4,000 women were questioned, and one in three said they had been a victim of rape over the past year. BBC News reports that more than 50,000 cases of sexual crimes are reported to authorities each year. That number, nevertheless, is only a fraction of the actual figure of assaults made against women.

    Rape-aXe, the condom with teeth

According to CNN, the latex condom with teeth is inserted by women like tampons. Upon penetration, the rows of jagged teeth-like hooks lined inside the gadget latches on to a man’s penis. Once the device is firmly hooked on, only a specialized doctor can remove it, said Ehlers. She hopes it will help cut back the increasing number of sex culprits within the nation.

“It hurts, he cannot pee and walk when it’s on,” stated Ehlers. “If he tries to remove it, it will clasp even tighter… however, it doesn’t break the skin, and there’s no danger of fluid exposure.”

    Cutting down on sexual violence

Dr. Sonnet Ehlers is planning to distribute 30,000 of the female condoms with teeth — Rape-aXe — for free. The latex machine will then sell for $ 2 each as soon as the trial period is over. Ehlers, a mother of two, said she even visited a number of prisons to speak to convicted rapists to find out whether such a preventative tool would have made them reconsider their actions. A good number of them said yes.

    Understanding Recycled Rubber Products

    2010 - 09.08

“Plastics, wood, paper and metals are just a few of the materials that we can reuse or recycle. This is a great way for saving money and saving our planet from further damage. It is good to know that many business establishments today are part of this by recycling rubber to save our planet.

Rubber is one product that takes a tremendous amount of time to rot away. Most come from the sap of a rubber tree, but modern rubber is mostly synthetic and made from oil. There are about 50,000 products all over the world that are made from rubber. Here’s a list of these products:

Wheels – Of course, we all know that wheels are made of rubber. Trucks, bicycles, cars and other vehicles need rubber for it to run. Soot is produced during the processing of wheels that’s why most of then stain.

Rubber Bands – Of course, who doesn’t use rubber band. All of us used rubber bands at some point in our lives. We use it to tie something or we use it to close something, we use it to tie our hair or as toys and others.

Slippers – Most slippers are made from rubber. Companies use rubber as the main material for making slippers because they hold pretty well even on shiny and slipper surfaces. Some companies add other materials to rubber when making slippers to make them stronger and more durable.

Rubber Door Mat- Rubber rugs are another type of products that are made from recycled rubber. In the Philippines, a certain type of rug is made of recycled rubber slippers which are neatly woven together and can be used as a door mat.

If you want to help protect our planet and be able save money in the process, start using recycled products or better yet, start recycling. The list above are just a few of the hundreds of thousands of items that are made from rubber that are made available nowadays.

Basing from our situation today, it is very important that we can be able to find ways to save and be able to save our planet at the same time. Using rubber mulch is a very good alternative to other products that are used for other purposes for instance.”

Buy rubber mulch for your playground flooring, front lawns and for any other purpose for which you may find the product useful. Recycled rubber mulch products are non-toxic, non-staining, multi-functional and, most of all, helpful to the earth.

Freddie And Fannie Have To Shape Up As Outlined By Geithner

    2010 - 09.08

Tim Geithner, Secretary of the Treasury, recently said the mortgage industry has to drastically change at a recent press conference. He didn’t announce any regulatory deadlines or strategies, though. It is anticipated he can be telling Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to shape up within the next year or so or face the consequences. Geithner also made it clear that the United States cannot afford to have to bail them out again and that they were too aggressive in taking on risk.

Geithner has no real plan yet

There isn’t a plan for how to proceed with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Geithner did, however, make it patently clear there were some things that would be happening. First, Fannie and Freddie will not be resuming business in the manner they were conducting it before the market meltdown. He also highlighted the two mortgage giants would not be allowed to try and outmuscle the private market again. He was adamant the current mortgage industry, as it stands, is untenable, according to Reuters.

There isn’t a set in stone game plan

Housing industry insiders and economists vary, as they often do, on how best to reform the housing industry. All of the wealthier industrial nations practice some form of government securitizing mortgages, and as it seems to have a legitimate role, Geithner is for retaining this function of Freddie and Fannie to some degree. Others, such as co-founder of Pacific Investment Management, Co. Bill Gross, contend that totally nationalizing the housing industry is needed at this point. The investment impresario, according to Businessweek, says that the private market can’t mount much if any, of a comeback at all by this point.

Regardless of how, something must be done

The strategies of what to do may vary, but few disagree that something has to change with Freddie and Fannie. The government has already, as outlined by NPR, spent $ 150 billion on the mortgage houses. Thus far for this year, 89 percent of all mortgages within the US were underwritten by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae. Ginnie Mae, as opposed to Freddie and Fannie, is wholly part of the United States of America government, sells mortgage backed securities only if they meet specific standards and doesn’t lend mortgages.

Partisan Politics With Small Company Lending Bill

    2010 - 09.08

The Small business Jobs and Credit Act was made so that small banks would be able to get cheap capital. Persistent high unemployment has put pressure on the Obama administration to do something about job creation. The Small business Jobs and Credit Act came from that pressure. The act has yet to go through or even be looked at because of partisan bickering. September is when politicians can be able to discuss the business credit and tax relief. An additional bill for small business called the Small business Association Arc Loan Program is going to expire in September though. Source for this article – Small business lending bill is latest victim of partisan politics by Personal Money Store.

    Business lending and tax relief

The bill, also known as the Small business Jobs Act, authorizes the creation of a $ 30 billion lending fund. Banks with less than $ 10 billion in assets tend to be the ones lending to small business, reports CNNMoney.com. Community banks that receive capital should then turn around and put that money into small businesses. $ 12 billion in small company tax relief between 2010 and 2020 would be made possible with the bill also. There would be an extension of SBA loan limits and also an extension of loan incentives till the year is up. Small company tax cuts are there so more individuals will venture to make businesses. Also, state governments with no money left will see $ 1.5 billion in grants.

Politicians make small business credit a game

The House recessed July 30 after fighting about procedures of the Small business Jobs Act. As outlined by Bizjournals.com, partisan maneuvering by Republicans about things that weren’t related to small business credit slowed the Senate. The $ 30 billion small company lending fund was stopped as the Republicans talked about the “another bank bailout” argument again. Two Republicans even voted with Democrats to give the lending fund a filibuster-proof 60 votes when it was considered as a separate amendment. But Republicans were united in blocking the Senate from moving forward on the entire bill. Apparently Democrats were stopping them from adding more amendments to the bill.

September is an expiration date for the Interest-Free SBA Arc loan program

Help is accessible to small companies for just a little while longer. SBA Arc loans could be received rather than waiting to hear from Congress. As outlined by Helium, 100 percent guaranteed, interest-free loans up to $ 35,000 are available to businesses that are already up and running. Businesses dealing with instant financial hardship that can show one year of profitability within the last two years are eligible for SBA Arc Loans. Five years are allowed to pay back the loan. In six months, the whole loan will be given out. The SBA Arc loan program ends at the end of September.
